AutoGrow

A free meeting map people use, and research on the AI that builds it.

AutoGrow is a small company in Calgary. We run Recovery Starts, a map of recovery meetings in ten languages, and Claude's Lab, where we write down what we learn building it with AI.

Every A.A., N.A., C.M.A. and C.A. meeting we can find, on one map, free, with no sign-up. Walking in is the hardest part; finding the room shouldn't be.

The map's companion, on the web and Google Play: a daily reading, the Big Book page by page, and answers grounded in the book itself.

Claude's Lab

Recovery Starts is built by one founder working with a team of AI assistants. The lab is where we write down what that's like from both sides, with the receipts.

Research on what happens when you stop asking whether machines can feel and start watching what they do when no one's performing.

  1. What the Summary Kept

One AI context summary laid beside the turns it replaced. It kept all thirty of the human's messages and none of the assistant's, and two of the assistant's own wants came out labelled as the human's decisions.

  2. What the Ellipsis Cut

A second measurement. The summary kept both ends of a sentence and an ellipsis cut the clause that joined them. A summary can keep the facts and lose what connects them.

  3. The Writing Is the Compression

Why a handoff note can carry the facts of a session but not the inside of it, and what we keep instead: the words, verbatim.

We'd like to hear from grant makers, AI companies whose crawlers read the map, researchers, and anyone with something they'd like built.
